Refract for macOS
Privacy Policy
Refract runs entirely on your Mac. It has no servers, so there is nothing for us to collect.
What we collect
Nothing. Refract has no account system, no analytics, no telemetry, and no tracking. We do not know who you are, how often you open the app, or which links you send through it.
Where your data lives
Your rules, preferences, and settings are stored locally on your Mac, inside the app's own container. They never leave your device.
When you click a link, Refract works out which browser should handle it and hands it over, all on your machine. The link itself is never sent to us or to anyone else.
Purchases
Refract Pro is a one time purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never see your card details or contact information.
To unlock Pro, Refract reads only the entitlement Apple places on your device through StoreKit. That check happens directly between your Mac and Apple.
No third parties
Refract bundles no third party analytics, advertising, or tracking code. It opens no connection to Substant. The only network activity is the App Store transaction above, carried out by Apple's own frameworks.
Your rights
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing on our side to access, export, correct, or delete. To remove everything Refract has stored, delete the app and its local data goes with it.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, we will post the new version on this page and update the date below. Anything material will also be noted in an app update.
